Here is what our letter writer had to say:

"My boyfriend and I have been going out for six months, so you'd think we'd know each other pretty well by now, right?  Wrong. He got me several nice gifts for Valentine's Day:  Chocolates, flowers and a pair of designer jeans I've been wanting for a long time. The thing he, is gave me a gift receipt with the jeans in case they didn't fit! Shouldn't he know my size by now?

Was it completely unromantic for him to give me a gift receipt with my Valentine's Day gift?"

Here is my response to our letter writer:

REALLY?!?!? REALLY!?!?! Are you kidding me??!?! The man bought you flowers and chocolates AND designer jeans that he knew you wanted! So he was considerate and romantic! He also listened to you because he knew the exact jeans to get you. I wouldn't worry about the gift receipt AT ALL! He wanted you to be able to exchange them in case they didn't fit. I have jeans in different sizes depending on the brand and the style of the jeans. How embarrassed would you have been if they were too tight and you had to ask him for the receipt to exchange them?!?! I think you're really grasping at straws here to find something to complain about. Be happy you have such a giving, thoughtful and romantic man and stop looking for flaws!
