I really wish I enjoyed coffee, especially at 4 o'clock in the morning. If I did like it, I could see myself drinking a cup (or two) before I even got out of bed.

If this sounds like you, you might want to rethink when you have that first cup of coffee each day.

If you think like me then we are both doing it wrong. Studies have shown the average person's cortisol levels peak between 8:00 and 9:00 in the morning.  Cortisol prevents caffeine from doing its thing.

So basically, you should get to work and then have your first cup of coffee.  Or if you wake up really early, wait an hour. There are actually three times in the day when your cortisol levels peak - right after you wake up, between noon and 1:00 PM, and between 5:30 and 6:30 PM.  So you shouldn't have coffee then either.

If you want, you can ignore this whole blog and keep doing what your doing with your coffee. It won't kill you, you just might need a little more caffeine to get the job done.

Like I mentioned earlier, I don't drink coffee. Do you have any suggestions on other options to drinking coffee? I would love some ideas.
