When you think of the country that drinks the most alcohol, which one comes to mind? Russia with their vodka? Italy because of all the wine that they produce? Germany with Oktoberfest? You would be wrong with all of those.

The country where most alcohol is consumed per citizen (on average) is Belarus. If you don't know where Belarus is, it's an eastern European country near Poland and the Ukraine.

In that country, each citizen drinks an average of 3.8 gallons of alcohol every year, and 1.7 gallons of that is liquor alone. That is a lot of shots!

Lithuania and Czechia (the Czech Republic) rank second and third in the data collected by the World Health Organization. Eastern Europe must sure know how to party! Maybe that is why graduates dream of backpacking across Europe after school. The United States actually ranks at #41 on this list, so I think it might be safe to say that frat parties must pale in comparison to parties in Belarus.
