Families can have some fun and learn about animals and the environment Easter weekend at Binghamton’s Ross Park Zoo and hear about the upcoming season on Southern Tier Close Up.

The annual Eggstravaganza egg hunt at the Southside, Binghamton facility is being held Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1.

The “go-at-your-own-pace” event allows children of all ages to collect five differently colored eggs to redeem for prizes.  Photos with the Easter Bunny will also be available at the Zoovenirs Gift Shop.

Events for the animals include spotlights through the day for an interactive experience for visitors with some bunnies and educational animals as well as Easter-themed enrichment for the permanent residents. Visitors can see members of the Zoo collection experience new foods, toys in the shape of eggs and new scents.

The Eggstravaganza takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day with the photos from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Admission is $6 for members and $9 for non-members. Participants don’t need to bring baskets since bags will be provided by the Zoo.

The Ross Park Zoo opens for its regular season April 21st & 22nd.  Information on events and programs can be found at www.rossparkzoo.com or by calling (607) 724-5461.
