The Second Annual Rock Against Suicide Benefit

Depression is such a horrible illness, and often times people who are suffering are really good at hiding it. We may not always be in tune or realize how badly they are suffering.

Last year I had a very dear friend commit suicide. He was really into the local music scene, always the life of the party and gave so much back to our community by being involved in several charity events. Everyone loved him. We had no idea how badly he was suffering inside.

That is why we need to shine the light on this and bring awareness to everyone. There is a great event happening tomorrow Saturday July 25th called 'Rock Against Suicide'. The goal of this even is to raise awareness of suicide prevention resources in our area and money for the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier's suicide prevention programs.

There will be raffles for great prizes and live music from Beard of Bees, Citizen 5, O.C.D., Super Radical and Recycled Zombies.
