I used to think that after the July 4th celebration summer began winding down. That way of thinking could not be further from the truth!

There are still a ton of things going on around the Binghamton area.

Some of the biggest local events of the summer are coming up. The big country music concert is Friday night at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton. If you want to get tickets or more information, go to Countrylightsfestival.com.

This weekend is also July Fest in downtown Binghamton. There is great music, food and vendors all weekend long.

The weekly concert series at Otsiningo Park in Binghamton continues all month long on Tuesday nights. Check out the lineup here.

How about checking out some Binghamton Mets baseball games? They are a blast and on many nights there are fireworks following the game.

And, let's not forget about the Spiedie Festival, The Dick's Sporting Goods Open, Live Harness Racing at Tioga Downs, and The Chris Thater Memorial Race.

There is still a lot of fun things going on in Binghamton this summer. What is your favorite part of summer in the Southern Tier?
