This is an interesting story, and it makes you wonder who else suffers from a similar issue.

Nick Hess, a 34-year-old man from England, suffers from a rare condition called, Auto-Brewery Syndrome. This mean he has extra high levels of yeast in his stomach. When Nick eats carbohydrates, it actually converts to alcohol in his body!

According to BBC, Hess noticed a few years ago that when he ate bread, french fries, or even rice, it made him feel a little buzzed. He had no idea why and so it continued on for years until a doctor was finally able to diagnosis Hess with Auto-Brewery Syndrome.

We all have a little yeast in our stomachs, but Nick has about four times more than normal! We had never heard of Auto-Brewery Syndrome but it actually was first discovered back in the 1970's in Japan.

Doctors believe people develop it after they use antibiotics for a long time, since those can throw off your levels of stomach bacteria. And they say it is very rare. Of course you can live with this by basically eating like someone living with diabetes. This means cutting out most carbs and sugar. Eesh!
