Dog people are the best kind of people in the world, there's no question about that. However, even the best, most caring dog people in the world forget some things sometimes. Here are a few reminders about things you should never do to your dog:

  • Never leave your dog alone in your car because in the summer months, a car acts as a oven and could potentially dehydrate, exhaust and overheat your pooch to the point of death. In the winter months, the car is like a refrigerator which can pose equally scary consequences for your dog.
  • Never make your dog live outside because while all dogs should spend time outside every day when the weather is nice, and they are being supervised, no dog should be forced to live outside all day, every day, 365 days a year.
  • Never neglect your dog's teeth because just like humans, a dog's teeth should be brushed every day. However only 2% of dog owners follow through with this advice.
  • Never hit your dog because this will damage your relationship with your dog, and, furthermore, it will prevent proper training.
  • Never assume your dog doesn't have feelings because they are some of the most animated creatures on the planet. Studies have shown that dogs understand human emotions based on facial features.
  • Never skip veterinary visits because just like humans, dogs need routine check-ups. Owners may not notice issues in their pets that veterinarians may notice right away and be able to correct immediately.
