More than 3,000 New York State Electric and Gas customers were without electricity following a storm that brought heavy wet snow to the region.

The utility Tuesday morning reported 150 customers in Broome county lost electric service. Outages were reported in Vestal, West Endicott, Harpursville and Port Crane.

In Tioga county, 59 NYSEG customers were without electricity. The company reported outages affected 96 customers in Chenango county and 22 customers in Cortland county.

NYSEG provided no information about the cause of the scattered outages. Power was expected to be restored within a few hours.

Emergency services officials reported some trees were down in parts of Broome County overnight.

A tree was reported down in the roadway on Route 26 between East Maine Road and Nanticoke Road in the town of Maine around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A few inches of snow fell in some of the higher elevations of Broome and Cortland counties.
