In an interview with Associated Press and reported on various other media outlets Van Wagenen says Tebow is targeted for a shot at Triple-A next season.  New York moved its Triple-A affiliation from Las Vegas to Syracuse effective for the 2019 season.  Van Wagenen said depending on the outcome of Spring Training he believes Tebow deserves the promotion.

Tebow brought lots of attention to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies this past season.  He ripped a home run at NYSEG Stadium in the season opener and his first-ever game at Double-A. It wasn't just his first game at Double-A...he blasted the home run on the first pitch he faced in his first at-bat.

Tebow had his season with the Rumble Ponies ended prematurely when he suffered a broken bone in his right hand.  In 84 games with Binghamton he hit .273 with 6 home runs and drove in 36 runs.
