You'll likely be exhausted either way, but there is a big difference between falling asleep at 3AM after a night out and falling asleep at 3AM after tossing and turning since 10PM. That being said, Bustle has some tried and true ways to fall asleep quickly to hopefully curb the tossing and turning.

  • Unplug from electronics which I know you've heard before. It's not a new discovery, but it's definitely easier said than done. It helps so much though in order to help your mind unwind before bed.
  • That being said, use a real alarm clock to avoid the temptation of looking at your phone before bed. Keep it out of the bedroom all together!
  • Stick to a schedule of when you go to bed and when you wake up. I agree, it's nice to sleep in on the weekends, but it throws off your body's rhythm.
  • Avoid napping even if you think you'll "catch up" from the night before because it will only hurt your next night when you try to fall asleep again.

Sleep is important, and you need at least 7-8 hours a night of it, so try some of these tips to insure that you don't take too long just laying in bed before actually falling asleep. Happy dreaming!
