My husband and I have had our eye on a house on Riverside Drive for over a year now. It has everything and more that we could ever want or dream for a home to have and the price has been reduced by $20,000 since it went on the market.  But, we're have reservations about doing more than just dreaming about owning it.

Jay and I have reservations because while the house sits on Riverside Drive, it's still pretty close to Leroy Street, where there have been some questionable activities lately. We'd like to hope that the crime won't creep down further than it has, but we aren't just looking out for ourselves anymore. With a toddler, we really need to take everything into consideration, especially safety.

And so, we've found ourselves really diving in and taking a good, hard look at which neighborhood in the Binghamton area would be right for our family to buy a house in.

Below are the safest top 10 safest neighborhoods in the Binghamton area, according to Neighborhood Scout. Information collected is based on all crimes reported, both violent crime and property crime.  Visit this site for a more in depth look at these and other neighborhoods.
