Growing up as a 90’s kid really taught us how to have fun. We didn’t spend much time inside, but when we did, we had the perfect toys.

Sure, we didn’t have iPads or Wiis and if you asked us what the App Store was, we would have looked at you with a blank stare, but we had the best time with the toys we were given. We thought it would be a fun idea this holiday season to revisit some of these old blasts from the past and see where they are today!

    Furbies

Ah, the Furby. I don’t think there is one person growing up in the 90’s who doesn’t have his or her own story that starts out, “OMG! My Furby…” These things were fun at first and then got creepy where they were sent off to the attic to collect dust. Today, Furby’s are still being manufactured and sold at places like Toys-R-Us and Walmart for around $50. Back in our day, they went for just under $20!

    Easy Bake Oven

You were not a girl in the ‘90s if you did not have an Easy Bake Oven. The two went together like Kenan and Kel. This was so much fun because for the first time in our world of make-believe, the cookies were real! They didn’t taste very good, but nobody admitted it! Easy Bake Ovens can still be bought at just about any toy store for around $45, not too far off from 1998’s price of $35.

    Roller Blades

Us 90’s kids have the tendency to brag about the amount of time we spent playing outside growing up, especially compared to children today. One reason we spent so much time outside is because we had things like roller blades. Roller blades were created in 1990, which made them such a hot commodity for every kid growing up during that time. They were the perfect mix of dangerous and fun. Today, roller blades are totally still in! You can get them at any sporting goods store anywhere between $50 and $100. Growing up, the price was pretty close to the same!

    Tamogotchi

These awesome little gadgets were a blast and sure gave children an idea of what it was like taking care of a real pet. Even moms loved them! What would we have done without her taking care of them when we went outside to play? In 1997, you could find Tamogotchis for just $17.99! Today, you can find them at Toys-R-Us for about $20 or just by downloading the $0.99 Tamogotchi app!

    Sock’em Boppers

Nothing made two children want to fist fight more than a pair of inflatable boxing gloves! It's safe to say parents didn’t love them, but we sure had a blast! There was never a Sock’em Bopper match that didn’t have someone singing the song from the commercial in the background, either! Nowadays, they’re called 'Socker Boppers' and you can get them at almost any toy store for only $10, although you won’t see any commercials on television! Back in the 90’s, they went for around $20!
