The annual Tournament of Bands high school marching band competition steps off October 10 at 10 a.m. in Downtown Binghamton.  The parade is followed by a festival along Court Street for the day.  Court Street will be blocked off for the festivities.

Meanwhile, a number of changes are on tap for the holiday.  Some businesses and government offices, like those in the  Village of Johnson City are closed for the day.

Johnson City says there will be yard waste collection, however.

The City of Binghamton will not be picking up yard waste.  The City’s regular garbage collection is Tuesday through Friday so that will not be impacted by the holiday.
