Toy Hall Of Fame Nominees

For those of you who don't know, I was born and raised in Rochester, NY (only 2.5 hour drive from here down 86). One of our cities most prized accomplishment was the National Toy Hall of Fame inside the Museum of Play, which is freaking awesome!!!!

Each year a number of toys are nominated to be inducted into the HOF, but only two or three will actually be selected. The new toy has literally been everything from newer toys/games such as Grand Theft Auto, to older ones like jacks and even the obvious ones... bubbles! (you'll understand a lot more when you see this years nominees).

So what's on the nominee list for 2016?

• Dungeons and Dragons

• Coloring books
• Transformers
• Swings
• Uno
• Fisher-Price Little People
• Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots
• And bubble wrap....

You may be thinking that a few of these nominees aren't really toys (ie. a swing, coloring book, especially bubble wrap), but what the National Toy Hall of Fame represents is your childhood. They have expanded the definition of toys and games to include the things that so many of us relied on to have fun growing up!

If I had to pick 3... Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots, Pinball and Bubble Wrap... just kidding! and Coloring Books because I still LOVE to color!!
