Officials are investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire that destroyed a home in Port Crane and kept firefighters on the scene for hours overnight December 9.

The blaze on Porter Hollow Road was reported about 8 p.m.  Firefighters from around a dozen companies responded and the last units left four and a half hours later. December 10.

There were no reports of injuries but the family of four has been burned out of their home.

Firefighters from Port Crane, Sanitaria Springs, West Colesville, Harpursville, Chenango Forks, Five Mile Point, Chenango, Chenango Bridge, West Windsor and Windsor all responded along with law enforcement and emergency crews and fire investigators. The last units returned to their fire stations at 12:42 a.m.
