Few details are being available at this time concerning a head-on crash on Pierce Creek Road in the Town of Binghamton late in the morning May 16 that sent two people to the hospital.

New York State Police said it appeared one of the vehicles tried to pass a garbage truck near Hand Road, just south of the Binghamton City line, at 10:13 a.m. when it collided with the other vehicle.

The names of those involved have not been released. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A portion of Pierce Creek Road had to be closed while emergency responders worked to free one driver from their vehicle, transported patients from the scene and had vehicles towed from the area.
