No injuries are reported in spite of firefighters from Campville having to battle the heat as well as flames as fire damaged equipment at Upstate Shredding over the weekend.

Fire officials were called to the facility on Recycle Drive in Owego at 3:13 p.m. June 30 when a welder’s torch sparked the fire that spread to other equipment at the metal recycling plant.

Authorities said there had been no loss of structures but said several pieces of machinery were destroyed.
