A growing Vestal church is getting ready to relocate to a much more visible site in the town.

Foundation United Methodist Church will soon move to a building on the Vestal Parkway, a short distance west of the Campus Plaza.

The new location had been used for several decades by Calvary United Methodist Church. Members of that church voted last spring to close and it held its final service in June.

Rev. John Martin, the pastor of Foundation United Methodist Church, said he is looking forward to the upcoming move. The church now is located on Mirador Road.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Martin said he and his church have received plenty of support from other churches and from people across the region.
