It can be difficult to get out of bed and get dressed in the morning when you're depressed let alone do much of anything else. Bustle says that there are some ways to make your life just a little bit easier when you're living with depression.

  • Stick to a routine because it can be hard to want to do anything, but having a routine can help you feel more accomplished even if all you did that day was shower and pour yourself a bowl of cereal.
  • Help someone else as that can help you shift the focus away from yourself and what you're struggling with for a little while. Offer to walk your neighbor's dog or wash your father's car if you think it's looking a little dirty. A small task like that can mean so much to someone else.
  • Move a little bit whether that means you take a walk around the block, or you do some stretches to an old Jane Fonda video. Exercising can help to boost your mood and hopefully make you feel a little better, even if it's just temporarily.

Always seek out professional help if you are feeling depressed, but when you feel like you're struggling day-to-day there are some great distractions that can hopefully help you.
