Some of the best things about Christmas are the traditions. And, I love watching my favorite movies at Christmas time. What is your favorite holiday movie?

A new Harris Poll survey was done to find out what the best holiday movies are. The favorite holiday movie is "It's a Wonderful Life." Nearly one-quarter of Americans surveyed by The Harris Poll say this 1946 film, starring James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore, is their favorite holiday movie, followed by "A Christmas Story."

Here are the top 5 best holiday movies according to the poll:

Favorite holiday movies:

  1. "It's a Wonderful Life" (23 percent)

  3. "Miracle on 34th Street" (17 percent)
  4. "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (13 percent)
