'Tis the season for holiday work parties! While there may be music playing and an open bar, there are some things that Bustle and myself would recommend that you not do in front of your co-workers at the annual holiday party.

  • Kissing a co-worker at the holiday office party is always, always, always a bad idea. You two could both be unattached and the alcohol could be flowing, but you really should not kiss your co-worker because that will only make for awkward office gossip come Monday.
  • Drinking too much is definitely a work party no-no because you have much less control of what you may do or say if you've had too much to drink. The last thing you want to do is have a meeting with your boss on Monday morning in order to explain to them what you were thinking with the impression that you did of them at the party, and let's just say... it wasn't that flattering.
  • Speaking your mind when your office has a policy of no politics or religion conversation while at work, but when you have a few drinks, suddenly you feel like you can talk about your political opinions which can only lead to problems as not everyone will agree with you and that may shape how others at the office suddenly see you at work.

Enjoy yourself at the office party, just make sure that you don't do anything that you will regret come the work week!
