It can be tough leaving the house every morning knowing that your best friend Fido is going to be home alone all day while you're at work. Bustle says that there are things you can do in order to make sure that your dog will not be in any danger while you're away.

  • Figure out how long your dog can be alone as it may be the eight hours that you're at work, but it may be less than that and you may want to try to come home on your lunch hour to let them go outside and stretch their legs a little.
  • Open your curtains to allow your dog to see outside and therefore feel less cooped up in the house. Seeing cars go by or people walking around can help keep them entertained as well.
  • Go for a nice long walk when you get home from work if you can so that they can get out and about just like you do when you go to work. Staying inside all day can definitely affect their mental health just like it could for yours, so try to stimulate your dog more with some outdoor activity.

You have to go to work, even though you may not always want to, but it's important to make sure that your dog is safe and comfortable at home while you're gone all day.
