Rain is expected through the day along a slow moving cold front. Some of this rain could be heavy, with the potential for three-quarters to one-and-a-half inches of rainfall. If rainfall of this magnitude materializes, very minor flooding issues will be possible.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service says a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m. April 16 for Oneida, Southern Cayuga, Onondaga, Tompkins, Madison, Cortland, Chenango and Otsego Counties.

Southeast winds are projected to be at 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour.

Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.  NYSEG had reported scattered power outages in Port Crane, Harpursville and Greene and the Northeast Bradford School District in Bradford County, Pennsylvania went on a two hour delay due to power issues.

Wind advisories are issued when sustained wind speeds of 30 miles per hour and/or wind gusts over 45 miles per hour are expected. Winds of this magnitude could cause minor damage to trees, power lines and weaker structures. Persons in the advisory area should secure all loose objects. If you are traveling through the advisory area keep a firm grip on the wheel, especially for those driving high profile vehicles.
