Lovers of wine, we can rejoice! Science is finally on our side when it comes to drinking wine. According to a study published in Frontiers of Human Neuroscience, wine experts have acute senses of smell and larger parts of the brain that are thought to help prevent Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.

Dr. Sarah Banks, the head of neuropsychology at the Cleveland Clinic in Las Vegas and the author of this study, said "It seems like if you have more brain in those areas, it'll take longer to feel the effects of the disease, but it's speculation".

She says that the research on the topic is encouraging, but more work needs to be done to have any definitive answers. With this nice, long weekend ahead of us, maybe we can all make a point of having an extra glass of wine (or two), you know, for science and for our health.
