Woman Recognizes a Robber Because of Facebook – Weird News Wednesday

We are going to call our Weird News Wednesday story 'Facebook Strikes Again.'

Of course social media is great to stay in touch with friends and family especially those who don't live close by. It's great to promote businesses and products. There are many great things that come out of social media...but sometimes it can bite you too, just like in this story. 

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, a woman in Florida had her purse stolen by four men when she was getting out of her car last week. Two of the four guys were wearing masks, but two of them were not. One of the guys was 29-year-old Quincy McGee.

Well the lady recognized him! How did she recognize him? Because they are friends on Facebook! Obviously they didn't know each other very well, but she knew it was him and forwarded his profile to the police.

He was arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm. So as you can see, sometimes social media can really be helpful and here is a great example! So go home and look through all of your "friends" pictures!
