Nicole Elliot of Columbus, Georgia, was looking through the Animal Ark Rescue's Facebook page when she saw Chester, a senior dog who desperately needed a home.

Poor Chester had a tumor on his head and was suffering from terminal cancer, but Nicole wasn't scared off. Actually, the opposite- she adopted the dying dog and decided to make his last days the best days possible.

Nicole and Chester went on all sorts of fun adventures following his adoption and Nicole documented the experience on a Facebook page she started called Chester's Final Journey.

So what's was on Chester's bucket list? He did everything from swimming and eating hot dogs, to going on a shopping spree.

Nicole says she hopes what she did with Chester will motivate others to consider adopting senior pets. "That was my main goal – to inspire and encourage people to adopt shelter animals that people are less likely to adopt, like older ones and the terminally ill," she told ABC News.

Chester was adopted on June 27th and passed away surrounded by love on July 10th.
