You look forward to going to work every morning, right? No? If your job is stressful, if you dread getting out of bed in the morning, you're not alone. Bustle explains the reasons why your job may be interfering with your mental health.

  • You're always connected to work through your phone and e-mail. There needs to be a line between work and home life. You'll be headed for a burnout sooner rather than later if you don't find one.
  • You don't feel you can speak your mind when you're on the job. If your employer doesn't listen to you, or let you voice your opinions, then you should be courageous and consider standing up to your boss (just try not to get fired!).
  • You work without a break, which is illegal if your supervisor will not let you take a break, but if you just have so much work to do that you forget to take one, try to be more diligent about it. Your eyes and your brain need a breather from the computer every once in a while.

It's hard to find a job that you love with other people that you always get along with. But when your mental health is at stake, you need to make your needs, expectations and opinions known in your work place.
