We're not sure if you're aware, but, um... Zendaya is Meechee.

Confused by this groundbreaking revelation? Not to worry—we'll explain.

Actress and singer Zendaya plays a friendly yeti named Meechee in Warner Animation Group's upcoming animated film, Smallfoot (out September 28).

On Saturday (September 22), actor, director and comedian Gabriel Gundacker went viral with a song and video called "Zendaya Is Meechee." The clip showed Gundacker walking up to a series of posters featuring each actor's name alongside the character they voice in Smallfoot, as the funnyman—quite dramatically, we might add—belted the character attribution for each poster.

Gundacker apparently took a liking to Zendaya's character the best, however, because he made sure to hilariously highlight her casting ("Zendaya is Meechee!") over and over again to the tune of a sweeping '80s style ballad.

Watch, below:

Naturally, the internet lost its collective mind over the admittedly catchy tune, with many claiming they would never be able to get the song out of their head. (And honestly, that sounds about right.)

Even Zendaya herself couldn't contain her own excitement over the overnight musical sensation, retweeting Gundacker's original tweet and praising him for singing her "name right and everything." (Just a reminder, it's pronounced "Zen-day-a.")

Zendaya truly is Meechee — and finally, we have a hit viral song we can all get behind.

But don't take our word for it. Check out these tweets that prove the power of "Zendaya Is Meechee," below.
