"Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over", the national campaign starts today and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 3rd. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, (NHTSA) about one-third of all deaths on our roadways in the United States involve drunk drivers. You can expect to see an increase in police presence on the roadways in our area too, including the use of marked and unmarked police cars. There will also be more DWI checkpoints as part of the Labor Day campaign to stop drunk driving.

Obviously, you should never drive while you are over the legal limit. Which by the way is .08 on a breathalyzer test. First of all, you can kill yourself or kill someone else. And even if you are lucky enough not to hit anything or anyone, a DWI arrest could cost you around $10,000 if not more, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and it could cost you the loss or suspension of your license. It could also cost you jail time, especially if you hurt or kill someone.

So if you are out drinking use Uber, Lyft, call a cab or make sure you appoint a designated driver. It really is not worth the risk.
