Living together before getting married to someone is not that uncommon nowadays. Which you think means that you're practically married as it is and that after the wedding it'll be the same as it always was. Well, Bustle has a few reasons to say that you're wrong, it will be different after the wedding.

  • Your partner is both your lover and your roommate, totally unromantic, I know, but true. You may find them irritating at times when they leave dishes around the house, but marriage isn't all about loving everything the other person does.
  • Your marrying an entire family, not just your spouse so hopefully his parents love you, too, or at least tolerate you.
  • You still have to date, but that can be fun! Dressing up and going out with someone without being nervous about if they like you or when the right time is to try to hold their hand. Dating without all the hang ups is the best kind of dating, if you ask me.
  • You and your partner will need alone time whether it's going away with friends for a weekend, or just spending an evening in the den on the computer. Just because you're married doesn't mean you have to spend every waking hour together. That would drive anyone crazy.

Marriage can be wonderful, but it can also be challenging. Getting married has an affect on the rest of your life. For those getting married this summer, congratulations! I hope there's an open bar.
