Everyone has that one thing that really draws them to go to the fair every year. For some people, this news might sadden you...

In many fairs across New York State, it has been popular to have wild cat petting booth. You know, one where you get a sticker that says "I pet a tiger". Well this popular attraction is no more.

According to nydailynews.com:

Gov. Cuomo signed legislation Monday that makes it illegal for fairs and circuses to make their lions, tigers and other big cats available for photographs with patrons. The law takes effect in 180 days.

As someone who is very much against animal neglect and cruelty I am quite happy with this ban. I'm also quite shocked that this is a "thing" at fairs to begin with. If you are petting a baby tiger at a circus or fair, that means the baby has been taken away from it's mother at a very early age. This new law will help to put an end to the exploitation of animals.

What do you think about this new law?
