Jon Stewart officially has a replacement: Comedian Trevor Noah will be taking over hosting duties on the Daily Show!

Fans will recognize Noah from the talk show already, as the South African–born comedian has made three appearances on the show as a correspondent, memorably making jokes about his home country and America. (The fact that he is biracial — and is rockin' a pretty freaking awesome accent — only adds to his appeal. And his prestige!)

The announcement — which Comedy Central is set to make on Monday (March 30), the New York Times reports — comes after Stewart announced to his audience last month that he will be retiring after this season (and after 16 years of hosting).

"I'm thrilled for the show and for Trevor," Stewart said in a statement to the NYT. "He's a tremendous comic and talent that we've loved working with." In fact, Jon Stewart is so excited that he revealed that he "may rejoin as a correspondent just to be a part of it!"

One of Noah's bits (which you can watch in the clip below) involved him recalling what black South African moms tell their children.

"Be grateful for what you have," he drolly remembered, "Because there are fat kids starving in Mississippi."

Noah told the New York Times that Stewart gave him advice about the transition.

"He told me, 'I was where you were when I took over the show. Nobody knew me. I was just starting out, finding my voice, and that’s when I was handed this seat.'"

No set date has been announced for either Stewart's departure or Noah's first night, but we're eager to see how the comedian stands up. (Ha!)
