There is no question that Abigail Breslin's biting new single 'You Suck' -- seemingly inspired by Michael Clifford -- ignited a wealth of backlash from 5 Seconds of Summer fans. Now the actress is opening up about her relationship with the guitarist, the band's rabid fan base and more.

"You know, the song is about a bunch of different people that I've known… it's not about one person in particular," Abigail tells Huffington Post Live of 'You Suck,' though she acknowledges the (multiple) references to the 5SOS band member.

"Obviously you can't release a song called 'You Suck' that references certain things and can't expect backlash to some degree," she admits, explaining that she actually received death threats from angry fans on Twitter.

"I learned that boy bands have a very, very strong, avid following. They're very passionate. It's good that they're passionate about something," she says. Still, though, she says that "it got a little bit intense, some death threats and stuff like that."

Abigail also opened up about her relationship with the singer, making sure it was understood that the two never had an actual, well, relationship.

"No, we never dated," she reveals. "We literally hung out twice. He got me tickets to a One Direction show and we went to dinner and that's it."
