Man’s best friend is smarter than you think. Did you know dogs have a sensitive bone in their body that can detect and read our facial expressions?

When we’re happy our pup is happy. When we’re sad or frustrated so is the dog. Dogs can pick up on our behavior just like any human being can even if they’re not familiar with us.

According to Huffington Post, the University of Veterinary Medicine in Austria conducted a research method using eleven different types of our furry friends. The four legged creatures were shown half of a human facial expression and all reacted appropriately without seeing the other half.

The dogs responded more to the happy faces verses the angry ones. This is based on how many dogs could relate to the sad or angry face based on personal past history.

Next time you’re having a bad day and feeling alone, see if your dog can recognize your sad face and turn that frown upside down.
