Early on in my relationship with my wife I would buy her a cute calender for Christmas every year.  You know those calenders, the ones with cute puppies or dolphins.  I did this for several years before I realized that if I buy the calender the day after Christmas I could get it for 50% off.

Since you can't even use the calender until January 1st, I figured this was a good idea and I wouldn't look too cheap.

Harris Interactive, on behalf of CouponCabin.com asked 2,324 adults if they would consider delaying their gift-buying until the inevitable January sales.  They found that one-third (34%) of U.S. adults would consider waiting until January to do most of their holiday shopping in order to save money.

They also found that 75% are somewhat concerned with holiday expenses (buying gifts, entertaining, attending holiday parties) this year.  And, 19% are very concerned with the expenses.

I understand that there are a lot of factors, but would you consider doing Christmas shopping in January to save money?
